? >> kristen, it has been two weeks since the oil tanker hit the tower of the bay bridge and repair begins today. we are talking about the western span of the bridge, the eastern most tower closest to treasure island, the fender of the tower. it is designed to protect the tower. that is what it does. repair to the fender is going to be costly. the metropolitan transportation committee estimates we are looking at $2 million or $3 million. it is expensive because it is hard to access. the building materials that are used include steel and recycles plastic. repairs are expected to take about 4 1/2 months. the money is in reserve for the repairs. they also do intend to go after the tanker owner who try and recoup some of the funds. the tanker long since left on a friday the 11th and was able to sail safely from the bay area but it is going to be a while before we know why it hit the tower of the bay bridge. the ntsb is looking at 18-month long investigation to determine if it was humor mechanical error. there was no damage to the bridge tower itself and the tanker did not leak oil in the bay.

traffic. kristen and eric? >> thank you. happening now a san francisco woman is in critical condition with burns to her face after family members say her boyfriend doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. police are searching for the boyfriend, 22-year-old dexter oliver. they were at a laundromat and got in a heated argument. the victim's sister say he came home, poured gasoline in a bottle and headed back to the laundromat. amy will have an update from the hospital in 30 minutes. >> two suspects in the murder of two teen girls in oakland are due in court. the 18-year-old powell faces two counts of murder and possibly the death penalty. and another is charged with accessory. the victims were best friend. the 15-year-old and 16-year-old were found shot several times in east oakland in november. witnesses say there was an argument before the deadly shooting. >> a 16-year-old girl injured in a shooting near a high school at millbrae and san bruno border was shot in the stomach and leg across the street from the high school. it happened at 10:30 on saturday night. police did not say

it happens every year, our kristen berset is live from new orleans where it's always something unusual on media day, isn't it? >> oh, yeah. yeah, it was a crazy day. over 3,500 credentialed media members here trying to get sound from some of the players. some of the team personnel that we don't usually get a chance to talk to. it's not like your serious press conference that we usually have during the regular season. players are laughing, having fun. we're hearing some great stories. some of the players are at the podium while some of the rest of them are just kind of mulling around on the ground. for a couple of guys like ed reed and jacobe jones, this is a homecoming. jones had some friends and family in the stands. got cheers every time that he walked by them. now, while his teammates want to explore the big easy, jones says he just hopes to remain incognito. >> try to figure out a place to go. for me, i'm going to the hood, get away from all this craziness so i can relax. >> nobody knows your name. >> everybody in there call me kobe. >> thousands of fans actually paid to come sit a
